Community Gardens
Our communities are crying out for fresh food and vegetables! At one level the solution is very simple.
- Take a look around your church/community and see whether you have lawn that could be lunch.
- Think about your key relationships in the community.
- Invite a partnership.
St David's and St George's
The people of St David's and St George's in West Hamilton have responsibility for an enormous physical site. Although they are a small community of worshippers they have a significant footprint which they are putting to good use. Over the past two years they have steadily built a relationship with the primary school opposite them and in partnership they have constructed a community garden tended by the school children themselves. The produce is returned to the school for distribution along with assorted groceries.
